Castello Banfi is a rarity among Italian wine estates, not just because of its size (some 7,100 acres, of which around 2,400 are planted with vines), its composition of single vineyards, or its state-of-the-art winery, but because it was started from scratch less than 20 years ago.

Directions from Siena (70 km): Follow the signs for Grosseto and proceed to SS 223. Exit at sign for Paganico (45 km). Follow brown signs to M. Amiata, and then turn left at signs for S. Angelo/Montalcino, crossing over the bridge and railroad tracks (15 km).

Brunello is a wine born from time and from the care it receives while it ages. Its aging process is a rite and the cellar at the Barbi Farm is the temple in which this rite has been taking place for more than a century. Here lie bottles which date back as far as 1892 together with the barrels which will give us next year’s Brunello.

Passionate keepers of traditions from the Barbi Farm and Montalcino are ready to accompany our guests in the labyrinth of our aging cellar, which has made the history of the Brunello. Centennial bottles, curiosities and the magnificent barrels in which the wine “atto a diventare Brunello – to be Brunello” gets ready to make many palates all over the world very happy.
